We know that wellness in First Nations communities carries layers that no single program can fully hold. We do not arrive pretending otherwise. We arrive with humility, with practices that meet people where they are, and with deep respect for everything a community is carrying and everything it is still becoming.

We are wellness facilitators who happen to be artists. That combination changes everything about how we show up.

Every Withyin program is experiential, trauma-informed, and rooted in evidence-based holistic health practices. We come to serve, to share tools that work, and to build genuine ongoing relationships with the communities we enter, remaining available as true allies long after the program ends.

All programs can be customized to align with your community’s specific needs and funding requirements. Explore our programs below or contact us to start a conversation.

Custom Workshops Available

Every community is different. If you are looking for something specific, want to combine elements across programs, or have a unique community need, we welcome that conversation. Reach out and let us build something together.

We make the process straightforward and collaborative from the very first conversation. Whether you are exploring options, working within a specific funding stream, or ready to move forward, we are here.

The Withyin Method

Most workshops ask people to sit, listen, and absorb. We know that is not how human beings actually learn, connect, or change.

The Withyin Method is a repeating learning cycle built around one simple insight: people need to move through an experience, not just hear about it. Every session follows the same intentional arc, designed to honour every learning style in the room and keep every person genuinely present from beginning to end.

We begin every session and every return from break the same way. With stillness. With music. With permission to arrive.

Arrive

Participants settle in their own way — breathing, stretching, drawing, dancing, praying, or simply being. No talking. No phones. Permission to land.

Presence

Eyes open. Feet on the floor. A short sensory grounding sequence — colours noticed, distance felt, shoulders released, a breath, a self-hug. The threshold between arriving and being ready.

Connect

Participants share their writing with a partner. A structured conversation built on listening and being heard.

Share

Each group presents what they worked on together. Teamwork is witnessed and acknowledged by the whole room.

Rest

A break away from the material and the environment -- to go outside, self-regulate, or decompress as each person chooses. The cycle always reopens with a fresh arrival.

Introduce

Concepts, ideas, and themes introduced through a range of approaches — academic, experiential, scientific, and conceptual.

Discuss

The room opens for personal stories and community wisdom. Participants connect the concepts to their own lives and lived experience.

Move

A movement break to open the lungs, embody the concepts, or simply shift posture and energy level.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

The Withyin Method is built on the principle that choice and safety are not optional — they are the foundation. Nothing in this cycle is ever forced. Observation is always a valid form of participation. No one is required to speak, present, or share anything they are not ready to offer.

The structure of the cycle is intentionally designed to reduce pressure at every stage. Partner sharing in phase five means participants practise being heard in a private conversation before anything reaches the room. Small group work in phase seven means no one carries the weight of the activity alone. When groups share in phase eight, individuals choose their level of involvement -- being present and witnessing is enough.

Choice is woven into every phase. Participants choose how they arrive, how they move, whether they write, what they share, and how they rest. When people feel safe, real learning becomes possible.

Why It Works

Visual learners engage through presentation and group sharing. Reflective learners engage through journaling and partner conversation. Kinaesthetic learners engage through movement and creative activities. Relational learners engage through dyads, group work, and community sharing.

And everyone, regardless of learning style, needs to arrive before they can engage. The Mindful Arrival makes that possible every single time.

No one is left behind. No one checks out. The room stays alive.

Reflect

The inner world gets space. Participants meet themselves on the page without pressure or performance.
